unsleepable is a cool looking theme based on K2. There was a bit a of a problem integrating this theme with the Gallery2 PGTheme. So, I’ve optimized the theme to work with PGTheme and hopefully any other Gallery2 theme when used with WPG2.
Download: unsleepable v1.6 for WPG2
I’m playing with your unsleepable theme, in combination with the WordpressEmbedded Gallery2 Theme (http://www.galleryembedded.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=2636) and it seems to work flawlessly, except when you select “detailed view” in the embedded gallery, which then makes the gallery fall outside the main frame.
My knowledge of CSS is close to nill, so I have no idea if this can be fixed easily, but if its a simple edit, enlighten me! Else I’m condemned to the default Kubrick theme again.
I’ve been going through your embedded gallery using detailed mode with both Firefox and IE. I can’t seem to find anything wrong with the layout. To me, it looks fine. Were you able to fix the problem?
Wow you’re fast!
Take a look at this screenshot:

The Gallery extends over the edge of the white frame.
I’m using Firefox 1.5.0.4.
I just happen to be online right now.
I’m using Firefox 1.5.0.4 also and it looks fine on my screen:

Perhaps you could try Shift-Refresh or deleting cached files?
You are right!
I’m on Linux, Windows Firefox works fine!
Konqueror displays the site perfectly!
My guess is some fonts issue, my Firefox fonts seem alot bigger than Konquerors.
I copied my exact Windows Firefox fonts settings, and nothing seems changed though.
It seems like the drop down boxes are causing the page to overstretch.
Check out the difference between Firefox and Konqueror:

Really weird.
And it’s not Gnome related, I tried the same thing under a different user in a KDE 3.5 session, same thing happens. So it must be Firefox causing this. Weird weird. You happen to have any idea?
So far, I checked on a load of systems, here’s the list:
- Firefox 1.5.0.4 on Windows works fine.
- IE works fine.
- Firefox under a variation of UNIX’s, including Gentoo, Debian, Ubuntu and FreeBSD overflows the edge.
- Safari on Mac OSX overflows.
- Konqueror under Gnome and KDE works fine. (even though Safari uses the same KHTML rendering engine)
So is this caused by bad code? Or is there some sort of bug in the rendering engines?
And more importantly, any idea how I could fix this?
Hi aylwin,
I have a few questions, im totally new to wordpress and gallery but i want to make sure of a few details just incase i run into problems:
1. will it work on wordpress 2.0.2?
2 will it work on gallery 2.0.2 or do i need to update?
3 do i need a modified wpg2 plug in for it to work?
I have downloaded your unsleepable modified for wpg2, do i need anything else for it to work?
Answers will be much appreciated.Thanks.
Fabio, I have no idea how to fix this. It’s a bit over my head already. Sorry.
April, the theme is designed to work with Wordpress 2.0.x, Gallery 2.1.x and WPG2 2.0. It will also work with WP2.0.x, G2.0.x and WPG2 1.0 but you will have to modify some WPG2 files. My suggestion would be to upgrade Gallery to version 2.1.1a.
thanks for the WPG2 themes! unsleepable is really nice. but i’m seeing that the main unsleepable website is up to version 2.0, which is “widgetized”. not exactly sure what that means, but it sounds like its built for some new things for wordpress…
any chance you’ll be optimizing the 2.0 version?
thanks!
chuck
Chuck,
Thanks for the info! I wasn’t aware of this. I might have some time next week to optimize this newer version.
-Aylwin-
awesome!!! i’ll watch for it.
and i also hosed up the hyperlink in my comment, i think i was watching the dwayne wade miss the game winning shot as i was typing….
As promised: Unsleepable 2 for WPG2. This was a quick job though so let me know if there are any problems.
By the way, I’m sure Flash will get lots of other chances to hit game winning shots.
Aylwin-
Thanks! I’ll play around w/ it tonight.
Chuck
Nice job!!!
